Room Tour - Marin’s Big Girl Room

Time for the first 'room tour' on my blog. I found this beautiful room for a young girl on projectnursery.com. J&J design group made an excellent job! I love the atmosphere that has been created by the choice of colours, patterns and small details.

Trend - transparent furniture

The transparent chair Ingloo by Scab (pic.1) became an icon of contemporary furniture design. Another great example is the table Illusion by John Brauer (pic.6). These "ghost" furniture can be very functional in small spaces like a  kitchenette or a studio. I like the way light goes through them.

Graphic wallpapers

Today I am happy to show you very unique wallpapers. I love their graphic patterns and bright colours. They go well with simple, wooden or white furniture and neutral accessories.

Trend - velvet

So what do you think about velvet? For me, personally there is only one word that comes to mind - extravagant. I also knew that it is quite high-maintenance fabric so I've never been convinced to buy something made from this material. Following my curiosity I did some research and after seeing these colourful pictures I have to admit I like it! It looks very cosy and elegant. My favourites are furniture and accessories in vivid colours, blended in modern style.

Crochet decoration

Winter is almost here, at least in Finland it seems that it has arrived. Only the snow is missing. Crochet blankets, rugs, cushions or poufs are perfect decoration for the cold days, not only they look great but they are also very comfortable. I would like to learn crocheting one day, if it ever happens I will show you my work here in the blog. I have an impression that crochet and knitted decoration add cosiness and a warm feeling even to a very raw, minimalist room.

Nursery concept - little star

This post is very special as I dedicate it to my almost two months old niece. She is a beautiful little girl and she just started smiling :) During pregnancy when the baby's gender was unknown, her parents gave her a nickname "little star". Inspired by this story I found some cute pictures.
